Meet Amy

When I moved to Hawaii, my daughter and I loved collecting shells on the beach. Our collection outgrew what we could keep and I needed to come up with some projects to showcase the beauty of these shells. I started learning how to make jewelry and from there, Flattery Designs was born in 2012! Over the last fourteen years our products have expanded into other creative ventures. I have a day job working for the Department of Education but crafting is my happy place and a way to decompress!

Meet Eve

I have helped in varying degrees over the years with my mom's shop, mainly in product testing by taking everything she makes that I decide will look good on me. I’ve helped make things with her, my favorite being shibori. Now that I have graduated college and am back home, I get to be a little more hands on with the shop! Her best friend and I trade off helping out at markets and events!

Our Values

Mālama ‘Āina

We respect and take care of the land that we are lucky to live on. This means we do not take live shells, we do not over shell, and we return all unused pieces back to the ocean.

Community

Living on the North Shore of O‘ahu, we love our community. We try to give back in any way we can and form important bonds with our neighbors.

Transparency

We understand that the economy is difficult right now. We strive to keep our prices fair given the current cost of materials and to communicate with our customers about this.
